JoSAA Counselling 2026 Registration Begins: Important Dates, Choice Filling, Required Documents, Fees, and Application Deadline

The JoSAA Counselling 2026 process is currently underway at josaa.nic.in. The counselling and registration window remains open until June 11. To be eligible for seat allotment in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, students must register and complete the choice-filling process. JoSAA Counselling Registration and Choice Filling: All candidates holding a JEE Main 2026 rank or a JEE Advanced rank can now register for JoSAA counselling at josaa.nic.in. Once registration is complete, candidates may immediately proceed with the choice-filling process. The deadline to complete both registration and JoSAA 2026 choice filling is June 11. The complete counselling process is conducted only online. This year, a total of 138 participating institutes are offering 67,323 seats.

JoSAA Counselling 2026: Registration and Choice Filling

Check below to learn how to apply for JoSAA Counselling 2026 and fill in your choices:

Step 1: New Candidate Registration

> Candidates must authenticate themselves using their JEE Main 2026 details. Click on the link displayed “New Candidate Registration.”

> In the next step, enter your JEE Main 2026 Application Number, Date of Birth, Mother's Name, and Candidate's Name.

> Submit the details and verify the OTP sent to the email ID and phone number registered for JEE Main 2026.

In the subsequent step, create a new password for the JoSAA portal and proceed to log in.

Step 2: Logging into the JoSAA 2026 Candidate (Registration) Portal

> After registration, the candidate will be redirected to the JoSAA Candidate Portal.

> Log in using your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and the JoSAA password you created.

> Verify the OTP sent to your registered email ID and phone number.

> Read the important instructions and review all your details.

> If all details are correct, proceed to confirm your registration. If not, click the ‘Edit’ button to modify the necessary details.

Step 3: Filling Choices

The two steps outlined above complete the JoSAA registration process. Once this is done, candidates can proceed to fill in their choices, selecting the Institute Type, Institute Name, and Program from the list displayed.

> To begin filling your choices, verify your identity using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

> Once the OTP has been verified, candidates can use the “Add” button to add choices to their preference list.

> Candidates should add their choices in their order of preference. They may add as many choices as they wish.

Deadline: Lock your choices before June 11. Locking your choices is mandatory. If a candidate does not lock their choices during JoSAA counselling, their last saved choices will be automatically locked and will be used for seat allotment across all rounds.
