NTA NEET 2025: Registration and Exam Dates Announced, Changes in Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Eligibility and Preparation tips

NTA NEET 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the registration details for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET UG) 2025. The examination is scheduled to be held on May 4, 2025, for those seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, BVSc, AYUSH, and BSc Nursing programs. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may submit their applications on the official website neet.nta.nic.in between February 7 to March 7, 2025. The NEET 2025 application form, along with the information bulletin and notification have been released on February 7, 2025.

The NEET 2025 application correction window will be open from March 9 to March 11, 2025. The NEET 2025 admit card will be released on or before May 1, 2025, a few days before the exam date. Prior to that, the NEET 2025 city intimation slip will be released by April 26, 2025. The NEET 2025 result will be declared by June 14, 2025. 

NEET UG 2025 Registration:

 In the official announcement issued on January 16, 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said, "In accordance with the decision made by the National Medical Commission, it is hereby announced that the NEET UG 2025 examination will take place in a pen-and-paper format (OMR based) on a single day and in one shift."

NTA has clarified in the NEET UG 2025 Notification dated January 24, 2025 that APAAR ID is not mandatory to register for NEET 2025. Even though the use of APAAR ID has been implemented by NTA for NEET UG 2025 from this year, and candidates have been encouraged to integrate it with their Aadhaar details, it has not been made mandatory, as suggested in the notification dated January 14, 2025.

NEET Exam Date 2025 Important Events:

NTA for NEET: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set the NEET UG dates for several events including Application, Admit card, Exam, Answer key, Result, and Counselling. The total duration ranges from about seven to eight months. Below are the highlights of the NEET 2025 exam dates and related events.

I) NEET Exam Date 2025 Announcement: National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NTA NEET exam date 2025 on February 7, 2025. Last year, NTA had released the NEET exam date through a common exam calendar, but this year the scenario is different. NTA has been announcing separate exam dates for each exam along with releasing the application form and information bulletin, and the same was applicable for NEET 2025 as well.

II) NEET UG 2025 Application Dates: The application form for NEET UG 2025 was released online on February 7, 2025. The last date for application, along with fee payment is March 7, 2025, at 11.50 pm. Based on requests from stakeholders, NTA may extend or reopen the NEET 2025 registration and application window. NTA will provide correction facility for NEET 2025 applicants for three days from March 9 to March 11, 2025.

III) NEET UG 2025 Advance Notice of Exam City Slip: The advance notice of exam city slip is a document containing the name of the exam city, which is released before the admit card. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NEET 2025 city allotment slip by April 26, 2025.

IV) NEET 2025 Admit Card Date: The NEET 2025 admit card will be released by May 1, 2025, which will be around three to four days before the exam date. The NEET admit card is a mandatory document that needs to be carried to the NEET exam centre and preserved until the counselling process is over.

V) NEET 2025 Exam Date: The NEET 2025 exam will be held on May 4, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm, Indian Standard Time (IST) at designated NEET exam centres located in India and abroad. NEET 2025

VI) Answer Key Date: NTA will release the NEET 2025 provisional answer key and OMR response sheet in the fourth week of May 2025, within a few weeks of conducting the exam. The window to submit challenges or objections will be opened on the same date of release of the provisional answer key and response sheet/OMR sheet and will close within three to four days. The final NEET 2025 answer key will be released along with the result by June 14, 2025.

VII) NEET 2025 Result Date: NTA may release the NEET result and scorecard by June 14, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG 2025 result date for 2025 in the information bulletin. Along with the NEET result, the scorecard and the NEET 2025 cutoff will also be released in the official press release. In the NEET merit list, NTA releases the NEET city and center-wise result data, the total number of candidates appearing and the marks obtained by them. Generally, NTA releases the NEET result within a month of conducting the exam.

VIII) NEET 2025 Counselling: Counselling for NEET 2025 is likely to begin in the fourth week of July 2025 or the first week of August 2025. The entire duration of NEET counselling is scheduled for three to four months, and will be extended in case of vacant seats. There will be four to five rounds (Fifth round if need) of NEET UG counselling. The role of NTA ends with the release of NEET scorecard.
