The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce
the NEET UG 2025 exam date soon as part of a common exam calendar. Last year, the
NTA had announced the exam date of NEET in September 2023 along with other
entrance exams like CUET UG, JEE Main and UGC NET.
However, as of now, there has been no announcement or
indication from the NTA about releasing a common exam calendar. The exam
pattern and syllabus for NEET 2025 is expected to remain the same as last year.
Although the NEET exam pattern has remained the same over the past few years, there were major changes in the NEET syllabus last year. So, it is likely that there will be no change in the structure or syllabus of NEET 2025.
Students aiming to crack NEET UG 2025 should start their
preparation immediately, if not yet. Usually, students start their NEET
preparation about a year or two years in advance, i.e. from Class 11, or after
the completion of Class 10 board exams. The initial step involves becoming familiar
with the NEET 2025 syllabus and the structure of the examination.
Along with the preparation, students should also be aware of other details about the NEET exam. For them, this article by CareerMantra.Org explains everything about NEET 2025 including important eligibility criteria, exam dates, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, books and preparation strategy, etc.
NEET UG 2025 Exam Pattern:
As per the NEET exam pattern, it is a Paper-Pencil-Based
Test (PBT) of 200 minutes or 3 hours and 20 minutes duration. The NEET exam has
a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering the subjects of
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Each section is divided into two sections, Section A and Section B, containing 45 and 15 questions respectively. Within Section B, examinees have to attempt 10 out of 15 questions. Each question is worth four marks, and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The following table presents the detailed structure of the exam.
Sections | No. Of Questions | Total Marks |
Physics Section A | 35 | 140 |
Physics Section B | 15 | 40 |
Chemistry Section A | 35 | 140 |
Chemistry Section A | 15 | 40 |
Botany Section A | 35 | 140 |
Botany Section B | 15 | 40 |
Zoology Section A | 35 | 140 |
Zoology Section B | 15 | 140 |
The exam pattern for NEET exam 2025 is expected to remain in line with the previous year. The format of the NEET exam has seen stability over the last two years.
NEET UG 2025 Syllabus:
Last year, there were major changes in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) syllabus. Several topics were removed from each of the three subjects. On the other hand, some topics were also added to each subject. Explaining the reason behind the change, NTA said, “Due to the COVID-19 scenario, various school boards removed parts of the syllabus of each subject. The removed portion is still not being withdrawn by these boards. The removed portion was not uniform across various boards. Therefore, NTA received several requests for revision of the syllabus.” The subject-wise syllabus is given below.
Physics | Chemistry | Biology |

The NEET Exam 2025 syllabus will most likely remain the same as
last year. The NEET 2025 syllabus PDF updated by NTA will be available on the
