MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, which is an undergraduate degree program focused on medical and surgical education. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills required to diagnose and manage a variety of medical conditions through both theoretical education and practical experience. The total course duration is 5.5 years, which includes 4.5 years of classroom education followed by 1 year of compulsory internship.

To get admission to the MBBS course, a candidate must have scored at least 50% in their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized board. The students also need to clear entrance exams National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG).

The curriculum is divided into three distinct phases: pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical, covering subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, medicine and surgery. after successful completion of the course, candidates become as doctors, equipped to diagnose diseases, conduct surgical procedures and prescribe medicines.

MBBS Fees in India:

MBBS course fees in India depend on whether the college is a a government, private or deemed university and elite institute. Generally, government medical colleges charge very low fees, ranging from ₹6,000 to ₹1 lakh or more per year. On the other hand, private medical colleges and Deemed Medical University charge fees ranging from ₹6 lakh to ₹30 lakh or more per year. 

MBBS Admission Process in India:

The admission process in India begins with fulfilling the eligibility criteria which requires candidates to have cleared class 12 by securing at least 50% marks (40% and 45% for reserved categories) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. After that candidates have to clear the national level NEET UG entrance exam.
