Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by NTA for admission to UG and PG courses offered by participating institutions. Launched in 2022, the CUET exam aligns as an important UG and PG entrance exam, providing a common platform for candidates to gain admission into UG and PG programs in top colleges/universities across India.

CUET is conducted once a year in more than 500 cities in India and abroad. The assessment is carried out using a computer-based format. The CUET exam is conducted in multiple stages, depending on the number of candidates registered for the entrance exam.

3. Section III (General Test)Includes:

General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Basic Mathematics.

Question Type

+ All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

+ No subjective or descriptive answers.

B) 1 mark deducted for each incorrect answer

C) No negative marking for unanswered questions

CUET Entrance Test Duration

Each section/domain subject has its own time limit, usually 45 to 60 minutes per test.

CUET serves as a gateway to UG and PG programs in over 250 universities in India, establishing itself as one of the largest UG entrance programs. Top universities where CUET scores are accepted for admission include Delhi University (DU), University of Hyderabad, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia, etc.

Students appearing for CUET UG must have passed the 12th class examination from a recognised board. According to NTA, there is no age limit to appear for the exam. However, candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria of the institute in which they wish to take admission. CUET is a computer-based examination conducted in 13 languages.

It has 4 sections- Section 1A contains 13 languages, and candidates can select the language subject while filling out the form. Section 1B is for students who wish to appear for a language subject other than the language mentioned in Section 1A. The other two sections are general tests and domain-specific topics.

CUET UG cut-off will be released in the form of a rank list by each participating university or college. Given the expected high cut-offs, admission into CUET-accepting colleges will be highly competitive. With ample preparation time available for the CUET UG exam, candidates should try their best and stay updated about the key dates, application procedures, admit card and related information related to the CUET UG Entrance Test.
