Savitribai Phule Pune University

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), also known as UniPune, formerly University of Pune, is a public state university located in the city of Pune, India. It was established in 1949, and is spread over a 411-acre campus in the neighborhood of Ganeshkhind. The university has 46 academic departments. There are about 307 established research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In the 2022 NIRF ranking, Savitribai Phule Pune University secured the 12th position.

SPPU offers undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), PhD, PG Diploma, Diploma and Certificate courses in the fields of Engineering, Science, Management,  Commerce, Arts etc. Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of merit or entrance examination. SSPU Pune accepts scores of MHTCET, CAT, GATE and other entrance exams. It also conducts its own entrance examinations for admission to many courses. Apart from regular courses, the university also offers various UG and PG courses through distance education.
